Biography

Career
Son of Charles Claude FÉTIQUE, a Mirecourt violin maker, Victor FÉTIQUE began his apprenticeship with a member of the HUSSON family.
He then completed his training in the workshops of S. F. MALINE and Emile MIQUEL before joining Charles Nicolas BAZIN.
In 1901 Victor FÉTIQUE came to Paris to enter the CARESSA & FRANCAIS workshop.
In 1913 he left CARESSA & FRANCAIS to establish his own workshop.

Works
FÉTIQUE's production can be divided in two categories :
1- A production of high quality, which can be classified among the best bows of the first part of the XX° century.
These bows were made by FÉTIQUE himself,  by his brother Jules, by his son Marcel or by his nephew André RICHAUME.
These bows can be nickel mounted (first period) or silver or gold mounted.
2- A workshop quality production, made under FÉTIQUE's suprvision either in his workshop or in collaboration with a few good Mirecourt makers in which case the bows were finished in his workshop.

Workshop
In 1913, Victor FETIQUE set up on his own acount at 72 Rue Myrha, Paris 18 th.
